The IDL Logo Program
The IDL Logo Program offers you the ability to customize IDL for your specialized use. This set of IDL features includes:
The logos are presented in the areas listed in the picture below. The logos must be in JPG format and should be relatively small in size. We will not actually impose a size limit, however the larger the pictures the longer your custom version will take to download. The pictures will have no transparent colors. If you do not wish to use the entire logo space the IDL Main back ground will show in the unused logo area. If your logos are smaller than the full image area they will be anchored to the top left hand corner of the image area. When either of your logos are clicked on a web browser will launch and open the web URL you have specified.
The news feeds are actually just HTML files. The first line of visible HTML text must be "IDL Message - xx/xx/xxxx", where the x's are filled in with the date of the message. Also keep in mind that the size of the IDL Message window is not changeable. Your message should be formatted to fit in the Message window. If your message is missing the required header it will not be displayed. Messages are also displayed in the following priority order: IDL Alerts (from Immersions), IDL Messages (from Immersions), your first news feed, your second news feed. IDL will also only display one message every time a diver logs in. So keep in mind that if you always change your first and second messages at the same time the first message will be seen and the second message will not be displayed until the diver runs IDL again. For most uses it is easiest to just manage one news feed, and have that feed link to other pages.
The Message Board groups are limited to a 16 character name. The name may use letters, numbers or spaces in any combination. When a diver selects the Message Board they will default into the first message group you have created for them. This is a great feature for dive or travel clubs.
To enable these features we will need to create a special build for you which will contain your logos, web links, news feeds, message groups and contact information. The distribution of your custom version will of course be your responsibility. We will post it to our web site in an unpublished location for you to link to. You may copy the installation file to your server or just link to ours.
Immersions will retain all rights to the program in every way. You will not be able to resell IDL or directly profit from its use. Immersions will continue to release updates to the program, which will be released on the Immersions web site. Custom versions of IDL will still be upgraded using the internal IDL upgrade features. This upgrade will retain all of your customization.

The average custom package will require about 1 hour development time. All customization efforts will be billed at $100 US / hour with the first hour free. So for most packages you can have all of the above features absolutely free. We will let you know before we start what your bill will be if it will cost you anything.
